Solace in Solitude
Many of you might be wondering how to best acclimate to our new work / live from home lifestyles. A large number of technology and design individuals (among many many others) have been working from home for some time. But for those of you that may have a hard time adjusting to being – well, physically alone for most of the day. There are many resources out there which can assist in this transition.
I can’t recommend a better resource on working remotely than Remote: Office Not Required written by the founders of Basecamp.
In the meantime, I believe that there are many ways which we can help one another out in dealing with the pressures and stress of the moment.
3/15 – Solace in Solitude
What began as a quick collection of links to books and podcasts, an effort between myself and my friend Jenny quickly led to the creation of a new project. We sought to put together a list of resources and links in a shared spreadsheet to help individuals struggling with how to spend or pass the time, but ultimately this resulted in building a mini-app that serves to provide individuals who may be looking for healthy ways to maintain normalcy to do just that. Check out the details and link to this app below!
Solace in Solitude is a platform for users to share free and low cost ways to occupy our bodies and minds while we spend time alone. We hope that this virtual bulletin board inspires you to stay interested, rather than just staying busy. #solaceinsolitude
